SASDB commits adjudicators to ProductivitySA schools debating project
Every year ProductivitySA runs a schools debating programme around the country in partnership with various organisations, such as EDCON. ProductivitySA is a non-profit organisation aimed at increasing South Africa's productivity, thereby contributing to the country's socio-economic development and competitiveness. The intention of their debating programme is to ensure that when learners eventually join the mainstream economy, they are sensitised to productivity values and concepts and their impact on the economy. The programme runs in various provinces and involves teams of grade 11 learners from various schools who debate productivity-related topics in World Schools Style debates. In 2008, as in previous years, the SASDB will provide adjudicators for these debates at the higher levels. This will involve various competitions around the country leading up to the national final on 10 October 2008. The SASDB looks forward to our involvement in this project, as part of our mandate to work with all organisations that are trying to foster schools debating in South Africa.
